Muir Woods--California--Red Woods!
Okey Dokey folks I see you hitting your head on the wall! I can see it! You are so saying Omg, Post number three?! Seriously?! I, er, wish I could tell you the end is near, but alas...no. Hehe, nearly, I promise :D Today I am featuring Muir Woods. This is where we went to see the Redwoods. I really loved Muir Woods. Everything was so beautiful. You just felt so small and inconsequential when everything around you is so large and tall, and has been on earth, hmm let's see 100 times longer than yourself. There was a poem on a postcard I bought. The poem was by Joseph Strauss, the designer of the Golden Gate Bridge. Now while I'm not religious, I read it and instantly loved it. It moved well and it was just really well done :P. Here it is:
Here sown by the Creator's hand, In serried ranks, the Redwoods stand; No other clime is honoured so. No other lands their glory know, The greatest of Earth's living forms, Tall conquerors that laugh at storms; Their challenge still unanswered rings, Through fifty centuries of kings.
The nations that with them were young, Rich empires, with their forts far-flung, Lie buried now-their splendour gone; But these proud monarchs still live on, So shall they live, where ends our day, When our crude citadels decay; For brief the years allotted man, But infinite perennials span.
That is their temple, vaulted high, And here we pause with reverent eye, With silent tongue and awe-struck soul, For here we sense life’s proper goal; To be like these, straight, true and fine, To make our world, like theirs a shrine; Sink down, Oh traveller, on your knees, God stands before you in these trees. This was actually the view from the one road going to the
woods. You had to go up and down a mountain to get to
them. But that's why they stayed preserved. A lot of the
area was cut down during the gold rush so many years
ago, and this particular area remained intact because,
basically no one could get to it :P But this view was
awesome. Just one of the many.

I thought I'd give you a taste of how bad these roads were.
Mind you there isn't a guard rail at any point. And they
simple just drop off.

Alright so we got into the park around 9 and this was pretty
much the first thing we saw; this adorable little deer! She
was really close and apparently didn't mind us.

This was just showing the rings of age, and the thicker rings
that would've been years with more water, thiner less...
you get the picture. But it also had events that corresponded
with the rings. I can't tell if it says 900 AD or 000 AD...
Either way. Reallllly old.

Okay I'm going to confess, I didn't know it
was going to reflect when I took the picture
but it was a really nice surprise when I looked
at the screen! :D

Okay here my mom wanted me to get a
picture of another picture on the hill or something...
and so I tried going up and slid right back down
on my knees (which turned black and blue)
and so I went up the other way, got the
pictures and then slid down the hill. And
there's the path and then it's a cliff, it just
drops off....

My mom had me laying on the edge of this bridge
and god forbid I fall because there was nothing to
stop me and it was like a six foot drop into a rocky creek.

This is a panoramic shot i did of this tree like growing
being supported by these two other trees. It was so weird.

Okay, Congratulations, you've made it through
the woods pictures! Woo-Hoo! Now are just
some random ones. My mom thought this was
funny because they had the car parked in the
garage that, if you can tell, does not have a roof.

Well that is the conclusion for now my friends! I hope you have enjoyed Muir Woods as much as I have enjoyed showing you. Let the yelling commence for my long winded posts :D . . . Actually please don't. I don't like being yelled at lol :P
