Project 365-- Days 146 & 147

Yesterday was my mom's birthday and I made this cake that I was so afraid was going to be terrible (it was from scratch, I'm not bad enough to mess up a box cake :P) and so I supplemented with these cookies that my mom loves (my favorite). Just in case you aren't aware it is physically impossible to use powdered sugar and not get it EVERYWHERE.
The cookies are rolled in it so they're pretty messy...hence the picture.
Today it was so nice out so I decided to go out and take pictures by the recently bloomed peonies.
I won't shatter the illusion for you but it was pretty impossible to get a good picture for a few reasons. I'm not very happy with the results, but whatever. I'll try again soon.
My mom cut one and put it in the house so that should make it easier.
